Hi, I’m Kathleen MacKinnon.

My work lives where housing, policy, and human systems collide. Along the way, I’ve founded a consultancy rooted in equity and transformative justice, led a women’s outreach nonprofit, advised municipal strategies, and launched a character-education tech start-up that earned federal innovation funding. A breadth of experience that has some interesting connective tissue!

What underpins it all is a curiosity about how systems hold up under real-world pressures — and how we can design ones that are both resilient and accountable. That same curiosity fuels my podcast, Who Fixes It?, where I explore accountability, equity, and systemic design with a wide lens.

This site is part portfolio, part open notebook. You’ll find snapshots of reflections from the work I’ve done, the patterns I’m noticing, and the questions I’m still chasing. If any of it sparks something for you, I’d love to connect!

Yours in community,

Kathleen
